About CutOutFree
CutOutFree is a free background remover that works inside your browser. You choose a photo, the background is removed in a few seconds on your own phone or computer, and you can keep it transparent or put a color or another photo behind it. Then you save it, in full resolution and with no watermark.
Who makes it
CutOutFree is an independent project, made and run by Ardiana Ajdari. There is no big company behind it, and no investors: just a tool that does one job well, for free.
Why it exists
Most background removers upload your photo to their servers, and many charge for the full-size picture. CutOutFree started from a simple idea: today’s phones and computers are strong enough to run the AI themselves. Then your photos can stay private, and the full picture can be free.
How it works
The first time you use it, your browser downloads the AI from this site, 40 to 110 MB depending on your device, and keeps it for next time. From then on your device does all the work, using its graphics chip (WebGPU) or its processor (WebAssembly). The AI models are open source: BiRefNet and IS-Net, both under the MIT license, run with Transformers.js. Your photos are never uploaded; the site only counts how many images you make each day.
How it stays free
Because your device does the work, each photo costs us almost nothing. That is why you can make 10 images a day without an account, and 30 with a free one. A Pro plan with no daily limit is on its way, for shops and heavy use; it will pay for keeping the site running.
Languages
CutOutFree is available in English, German, Macedonian, Albanian and Spanish.
